Courses in university teaching for Junior Assistants

In cooperation with various departments, and with the aim of improving teaching at ETH, LET offers training courses in university teaching for Junior Assistants (‘Hilfsassistierende’, or undergraduate teaching assistants).

LET designs and realises individual courses together with its partners. Units from two departments are currently involved in this project:

• Computer Science (INFK)
• Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (ITET)

In the Spring Semester of 2011 the first cross-departmental pilot course, ‘Didaktische Ausbildung für Hilfsassistierende’, took place. Its subject was instruments of general didactics for assistants teaching in a laboratory exercise context. A second pilot series took place early in Spring Semester 2012, with increased numbers and much success.
